4 Local Marketing Insights for Someone Starting a Small Business

Skyline had a great time sharing some of our marketing experience at the York County Regional Chamber Roundtable, thanks so much to Becky and Krimson for putting it together. Nice to meet with area businesses trying to find that edge that sets them apart in a marketplace inundated with messaging.

Here are 4 marketing things I try to stay focused on…

1) Go out into the community!!! For any small business this is a must. You have to be willing to get involved with people, organizations and causes. You have to develop a network of friends and associates that is real and solid. This is your best chance to make it.

2) Serve your customers well!!! The best way to get new clients is to serve your current clients well. Find a way to set your service apart and be memorable. Follow up with your clients and make them feel special.

3) Figure out the best way to capture attention in your marketing that seers your message in their memory. A gift, a message, a mailer, a Google ad… Whatever it is do it well before you do anything else. You may have to try a few things out find your main thing but stay focused and make it work.

4) Love on people, be memorable, enjoy life, try hard, don’t be pushy, serve well, don’t make it all about you, treat your people right….

It can be tough out there, especially in the beginning, but remember, wealth is not money!!! Even though you need to bring home a paycheck all the other thing matter also.
